Hazard Identification
At 0.9% w/v benzyl alcohol, the formulated solution is not classified as hazardous under GHS / Safe Work Australia criteria. The precautionary information below relates to safe handling of the benzyl alcohol component.
Signal word: None (formulated product). Precautionary: Avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of reach of children. Not for ingestion or injection into humans or animals.

First-Aid Measures
Eye contact: Rinse with running water for at least 15 minutes. Seek medical advice if irritation persists.
Skin contact: Wash with water. Remove contaminated clothing.
If swallowed: Not for consumption. Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth and seek medical advice.
Inhalation: Not an expected exposure route. If affected, move to fresh air.

Handling & Storage
Handling: Handle under aseptic technique using sterile single-use equipment for each withdrawal to preserve the sterility of the remaining contents. Inspect each vial before use; discard if particulate matter or discolouration is observed.
Storage: Store below 25 °C, protected from light. Do not freeze. Keep sealed until use. Sealed shelf life 24 months from manufacture; once opened, store at 2–8 °C and use within 28 days.

Exposure Controls / PPE
No special engineering controls required for the diluted product. Standard laboratory good practice applies — gloves and eye protection are recommended when handling open containers. Wash hands after handling.

Stability & Reactivity
Stable under the recommended storage conditions. Avoid: heat, freezing and prolonged exposure to light. Incompatible materials: strong oxidising agents. No hazardous decomposition products under normal conditions.

Disposal
Dispose of contents and container in accordance with local, state and national regulations. Used vials and any associated sharps should be discarded as clinical / sharps waste through an approved waste stream.

Not classified as a dangerous good for transport under the ADG Code, IATA or IMDG at this concentration. No UN number assigned. No special transport precautions required.

Supplied strictly for laboratory and research use. Each batch is released against a Certificate of Analysis (COA) covering appearance, pH, benzyl-alcohol assay, sterility and endotoxin.
